about me
I have been with my husband for 16 years. I have 3 stepchildren that I love as my own. I was born and raised in Maine. I did move out of state for 5 years and experienced a faster pace. I am very happy to be home. I most recently worked in an assisted living facility. I have also done in home elder care and hospice care. I love working with the elderly and am sad to leave them, but I have always followed my heart and gut when making choices and I feel a definite pull to this new path. So why nails and reiki? I have gone through phases of my life where I really enjoyed wearing artificial nails. When I was manager of a jewelry store, I wore them for about 5 years. I have frequently been someone who can learn how to do things just by watching. I did my own acrylics numerous times and enjoyed the challenge of it. I recently decided to try my hand at doing my own nails again. When I went back to my nail lady, she saw my work and suggested I go to school. The thought stuck and I did it! Reiki came into my life while on a journey to heal my pain. I was sitting at work because it hurt so much to stand. My coworker listened to all the things I had tried to alleviate the pain, and she gently asked if I had heard of reiki. I thought about it and said I previously had an experience ages ago where someone got rid of a headache for me. She said she had a book I could borrow if I wanted to know more. I began reading the book and was so intrigued I knew it was for me, but not as a customer, I wanted to learn and do it myself of course! (Are you beginning to see a pattern?) So, here we are. I have completed Reiki level I, level II, and the Master Reiki level. I have inhaled the book I was loaned plus about a dozen others on Reiki and related topics. I'm deeply passionate about it and I can't wait to share it with you! I hope to see many of you at CHAKRAS, for your nails and a reiki session.
